What does every one play on and why??
Just want to get an idea as I want to get another one apart from the bog standard Wick, but don't want to waste money. So any guidance especially from the TUBA players out there would be great. ;D

Using a Perantucci PT36 at the moment Jake and I really like it. Hasn't turned me into a great tuba player but I get on better with it than I did with the Wick 3L. John Martin is using the new shaped Wick and seems to like it. No doubt he'll reply himself Also heard good things about the Dillon-Sheridan mouthpieces. Chris Doran (principle tuba with Leyland) uses one and says it's really good.

I am currently alternating between a Perantucci PT65 and a Miraphone. Both are good depending on what you are playing. Having said that I'll probably have changed my mind again by next week

I Play with a Vincent Bach 10 and a half A. Have used this mouthpiece for over 20 years now, formally a Sop Player for many years and when changing to Bb Cornet i never seen the need to change. Many Cornet players harp on about the correct mouthpiece that should be used Example Denis Wick 2-4. At the end of the day you use a mouthpiece that suits your face ;D

Vincent Bach 1C for me, although I am thinking of changing to something a wee bit smaller. If I was to use one to fit my gob, Neil, I'd be playing with a Tuba m'piece

I`ve used quite a range of different mouthpieces over the years from a philip mccann yamaha 14E (or something totally obscene) when I was at bon-accord, to a vincent back 1 1/4c when I was helping Kingdom and newtongrange. Have to say though, recently changed from the bog-standard 4b I was on before to a denis wick 4 and noticed a MASSIVE difference - sound is much bigger and warmer and, although you have to work harder in the upper register, I can tell my tuning and tone are far better than before!
Of course everyone suits different mouthpieces but in terms of balance, it is very tricky (in cornet sections particularly) if 4 players are on wick`s, another 2 are on bach`s and another is on a kosikup from the 1950`s. The bachs are easy to play, but I have never heard a player on one manage to blend with a section - tone colour usually sticks out like a sore thumb!

Yeah i agree wi Alan, Bach mouthpieces just don't blend at all keep them for a trumpet! At the moment i use the Yamaha Mc Cann on cornet and a warburton 3D for trumpet (they're awesome).

Schilke 60 for Bass Trombone. If you get fed up with it you can use it as a bucket, the cup is huge. Bach 4 or 5G for tenor. Davef, Trombone Unattached just now !

I've never had a problem blending with any cornet section i've been playing in with the bach,Formally with bands Boness and Carriden,Kelty and Blairadam,Lochgelly and Tullis. Personally its all down to the sound that a player can produce irrespective of what mouthpiece they are using. Some conductors in the past have commented that in the real world all the cornets should be on Wicks but again others have agreed what suits the individual goes.

Has anyone used those plastic Kelly mouthpieces? We're going out busking next week with the school band and the kids are harping on about getting them to stop "cold mouthpieces sticking to your lips" syndrome!

Used to have a Bach 7 that I used for both EEb and BBb, but decided to go even bigger and now use a Perrantucci PT-88+, (more the size of a JCB bucket!)
Using a Perrantucci PT-24 on me EEb Bass now too.
