Well seeing as we already had the best one i thought id throw in some controversy and find out what the worst one for people is.... Mines was A Salford Sinfonietta but only cause I had a rather large problem with counting and I had a lot of bars out in the second movement. But then I've not been playing for too long so havent really played that many testpieces... a few more years and i'll find something worse to hate no doubt ;D

New Buckenham Suite - now that was/is complete garbage. Neigh like horses, squeel like pigs, drop a golf ball into a bucket - complete mince!!

Have to sadly admit I liked Prague as well and Alan (Souter) That New Buckenham ( Buckingham ? ) Suite should have suited Selkirk. I heard Colin Kemp make many noises like that at many parties a few years back ;D ;D ;D Ask him if he still does the trick with the lighter !

The teat piece I loathe is "Journey into Freedom". Listening to, and playing it both drive me bananas.

I wonder if people`s views of pieces is tarnished by their experiences playing them? I noticed a lot of the time people say they hate pieces after they have had a bad contest result, but often suddenly love a piece after having a win on it?
I personally think Shipbuilders is a fantastic piece!!!

Could be Alan, never really had a bad experience playing the piece at a contest though. Just when I was younger this was a piece that was very over played in my band. Hese why I, in my own opinion, have put it down as my worst test piece!

The Fourth Suite and New Buckenham!
We burnt all the parts of the Fourth Sh*te (oops!) I mean Suite on a wee bonfire outside bandroom after areas in 1990, cos it was that crap! And New F*ckenham Suite (oops again!) was just a pile of farmyard poo!
At the time I wasnt sure about The Sh*tbuilders (oops!) (areas in 1992 was it?) But really enjoy listening to it now and would like to play it again!

Hese why I, in my own opinion, have put it down as my worst test piece! Yeah, I guess that`s the case! I think a bad result/playing a piece to death can really put you off it. I despise "A Kensington Concerto", but I`m sure that`s influenced by the bad result with Bathgate in 2003. Dundonnell, Pastime with good Company and the mission get on my tits now because of being overplayed in the past!!
