Well done. Want a job? The gradings will be officially confirmed after the next SBBA exec meeting in April.

I'm a bit confused with this one regarding the gradings for next year. Tullis for example 8th in 2004 and 3rd in 2005 and win promotion 2006. When we move up we carry 3 points for 2005 and 6.5 for promotion that gives 9.5 in my book wheres 13 coming from? I've had a look at the grading tables for all sections and if a band is promoted they carry their previous year placing and the 6.5 points for promotion. JJM whats your thoughts on this one?

This is just my calculations - but based on what I can gather from the rules you drop your previous section scores and for the two previous years you take the number of bands competing divided by two and add on a half. Hence why Selkirk/Shotts/Barrhead all carried 6.5 + 6.5 into this years contest.

Neil, looking at the tables it appears that you get middle points for each of the two preceding years in your new section. Your 3 points came from a different section so can't be carried upwards with you.
In Lochgelly's case we moved up at a time the the section reduced in size by one due to the merger of Broxburn and Livi so we had 5.5 points (from the 11 band section) and 5 (from the 10 band section) putting us on 10.5 points prior to last Sunday. With our 6th place finish on Sunday, we're now sitting on 11 points for next year's Scottish - better get practicing ;D

Look especially at paragraph g.

Almost correct Bruce you get a silver star. The correct section sizes were 10 bands in 2004 and 9 in 2005 due to the Broxburn and Livingston merger. Only 9 of the 10 bands competed in 2004 as Livingston withdrew. They were still counted, though awarded 10th place, for grading purposes that year as they were still a registered band in that section.

Well done to everyone at TRMB on a cracking result and to Neil for doing a better job than I did . Lochgelly deserve a big cheer for a great result too although I felt sorry for Tayport and Buckhaven but I'm sure they will bounce straight back up.
