hey have just cheecked out 4br and have notice that there is a 4th section band playing Voyage of Discovery (1st section regionals testpiece) and one of the 2nd section choices is Blitz check the site out www.4barsrest.com/news/detail.asp?id=2463 Can anyone explain this lol i'm

Back in the days of the vikings there was a special mad type of warrior called a berserker. Similar to a Glesga jakey wearing a Celtic strip in a Rangers pub or vice versa.

A "jakey" is a nut job usually fuelled by super strength lager or buckie. Read about it hereAnd yes, that is the origin of the word "berserk". You can read about it on Wikipedia here

That's a cool site John. Agree with the selection of testpieces being ambitious and good to see Plantagenates getting an airing again. Best piece ever

You're bound to have a great mixture like that in own choice test pieces, but here, they're not usually so ambitious choices. Maybe the standard of bands are higher there, or maybe they're picking a piece they like to listen to and really overstretching themselves and won't actually "play the piece". Interesting to see some of the choices though.
