I heard on the jungle drums that there's been some kind off bust up at Nitten with several players leaving. Anyone heard anything?

Wouldn't want to say, especially on a public Forum. I know to well what a conversation on this topic could lead to , and it aint my band to concern myself over it.
But i have also heard bits and bobs to if it makes you feel any better.

It amazes me how things grow arms and legs!
Yes, we have a new conductor, Stephen Sykes taking us to the Scot Open. Had a full band rehearsal last night and former conductors coming back to take xmas concerts. Nowt ugly about that. Mind you, there is a few ugly mugs in the basses, now Cunningham's back? ;D

i have also heard bits and bobs to if it makes you feel any better. Doesn't make me feel any better or worse for that matter. Couldn't care less if you want the truth...it's just that this part of the forum's supposed to be for gossip so I thought I might indulge myself in a wee bit. Perfectly innocent

Perfectly innocent Of course it was... ;D Well, maybe not perfectly innocent ;D I'm guilty as charged. But let's be fair, what's the alternative? I've even started a thread on golf! for Gods sake.

So are Nitten getting a bye for the Spring Festival weekend or are they going to attend rather than lose their place?
Was asking folk (in Nitten) about this at Blackpool this year - they said as it clashes (two weeks apart!) with the Europeans they will be able to get a bye, and compete in Senior Trophy the following year.....
Just wondering if they had received word if they could do this or not? I thought at time they would be pushing it....esp as contests as two weeks apart.
Also, wonder who the Nitten player was who was boasting about their band beating Dyke in Belfast next year............must have had few too many sherberts me thinks!!

What about the cost thought? Not only for the band but also the individual members. As a Nitten player and student i know if we go to both i'll be struggling to pay. Its not just the playing that needs to be taken into account here.I would love to play Essence of Time but my pocket money definately does not stretch that far.
