Yippee ;D I am very chuffed especially after we let slip the 1st movement a little. I think we played the 2nd and 3rd movements superbly well. And after speaking to one of the adjudicators afterwards.we were very close to 2nd place, even with our slightly loose playing at the start. And he said we could of been looking at 1st if it was a cleaner start. But overall we Done ourselves proud, and i think that is the best placing by Tullis in our history at the nationals in summin like 8 attempts.
A big congrats to the other Scottish bands. It shows the standard is very good all round the sections up here, and it should give confidence in future trips south of the border to all.

Well done to Dalmellington, and Archie on an excellent result. Now you can take your place where you belong, in the Championship section.

So many great results at the weekend - well done to all involved.
Favourite quote was from 4BarsRest who spotted "an old grey guy piking it out like a trojan on 2nd Bb bass" i.e. Jim Gourlay ;D
Congratulations Tullis, Broxburn Silver, City of Discovery, Barrhead and Dalmellington - everyone up here is proud of what you did!
Commiserations to Bon Accord B, Turriff Silver, and Broxburn & Livi - show them what you can really do next time!

well done to Tullis !!!! Especially to Tom, Alan , Alison, Michaela, Adam and Ellen. Proud to say Jake & I had the privilege of playing with you for a while!!
We're down south now-Shropshire (Midlands) and going to Wellington (Telford) soon for a wee blow. Could be interesting as we haven't played for couple of months since moving south!!
Well done to the other Scottish bands who had a good result and showed the Sassenachs how to do it!!

I'm just mirroring what everyone has said already, but special congrats to Tullis, I honestly thought you would feature well. It's also good to have a few high profile ex-fifers (Jim Gourlay / John Wallace)
Also congrats to Dalmellington and all the other Scottish Bands - its about time people see the talent of Scotland as so many top players and musicians have come from, especially from tiny little Fife!

Just noticed how the Tullis manged to beat Flixton who are ranked 159 in the world. 1 placing behind Clackmannon Indeed! lol Flixton played very well indeed, the perfrormance really merited their "so called" world ranking, maybe another day, another result though. Out of all the bands I heard including Tullis and Rainford, I felt that they all had issues with the first movement, us included, its not quite as easy as it looks on the page, though in both the cases of Tullis and Rainford, the final 2 movements were very good indeed. Well done to all the Scottish bands who featured, in particular my old band Dalmellington, who are now back where they belong.
