This forum was started in order to provide a friendly online meeting place for folks involved in all Scottish bands as well as friends of the movement from further afield. As such, we don't want it to feel encumbered by reams of rules and regulations. It does, however, make sense to have a few guidelines for civilised forum use so here goes:
Phew! That's got that out of the way, now get on and post, post post!! ;D
- Please try and post in the appropriate category. This saves the moderators a lot of time and effort moving things around.
- Try to keep posts relevant to the current thread. If a thread deviates wildly from the original topic then the moderators will try to steer it back on course. Failing that, the thread will be locked.
- Don't post the same topic on multiple boards just to increase exposure. It's annoying to other board users and results in much annoyance among moderators who have to clean up.
- Be nice to other forum users! Friendly banter will be tolerated (even encouraged) but attacks against individuals or organisations will result in a warning followed by deletion of posts and offending user accounts if the behaviour continues. The moderators are big guys and not easily intimidated
- Bumping of threads is not allowed. For the uninitiated this is the practice of a thread's originator making a subsequent posting to bring a thread to the top of the display list after it had started to drop down to the bottom. The moderators are big buys who are easily bribed with alcohol and can bump threads much more effectively
- Have fun on the forum and spread word of it to other banders who may not know of its existence.
Phew! That's got that out of the way, now get on and post, post post!! ;D
