Devilish Publishing Music Publishers is a growing empire and we're concentrating quite heavily on signing hot new composing talent in 2007.
We are looking for scores in all idioms of classical music, compositions and arrangements welcome and given this is a Brass Band forum, all Brass Band composers are welcome to submit scores to us.
Our website is: www.devilishpublishing.com
Just a few things to remember...
1) For several reasons, the first being for security, we do not accept submissions via email. Submit your printed scores, along with your CV, recordings (if available) and a picture of yourself. Just as you would if you were seeking a recording deal.
2) Submissions must be sent to:
Devilish Publishing Music Publishers
201 Worsley Road
Winton, Eccles
Manchester M30 8BP
3) As a policy, we do not return scores unless a SAE is supplied. If publication of your work is not granted and you do not supply a SAE, your scores will be shredded for maximum security on your behalf.
4) We offer Band A - 17% of the RRP per sale. This is 7% higher than the standard. Composers of significant standing will be offered Band B royalty at 25%. Band B royalty is awarded at the discretion Devilish Publishing staff. All applicants should assume Band A royalty unless told otherwise.
5) We use major distributors to get your music on the shelves, for example: Trevada Music, Just Brass and Just Music all sell our publications and we will be continuing to increase stock with these and other distributors throughout the year.
6) The most important thing about submitting music to publishers is to know what music they publish. We do not publish cheesy straight-out-of-the-box arrangements but instead we encourage talent and creativity because that is what music is all about. We are also focused on technical skill, especially in scoring technique. This may seem all a bit pedantic, but we publish music for others to buy, and we don't want them paying for sub-standard music.
If you have any questions at all, please email us at enquiries@devilishpublishing.com where we can deal with your request in confidence. For legal reasons, we will not be posting in this thread or answering questions in here. So, please feel free to email us!!
