Hi Diane,
Did you check on the numbers in the audience for each band as requested on the state of Scottish banding?

Hi Diane, Did you check on the numbers in the audience for each band as requested on the state of Scottish banding? Dafydd I'm afraid I can't comment as I never heard a single band yesterday as I was stuck in the kitchen all day. From what I heard the crowds in the hall were good throughout the day and the complex on a whole seemed to be busier than previous years.

That's excellent news, and may I congratulate all at Dalmellington for their organisation, and the bands taking part. Well done to all. Dafydd

Considering they took the stage about five players down they can be justifiably proud of the way they played. You dont have to have the players just as long as you know how to blow your socks off and keep it in tune ;D Was a great day though! really enjoyed it! Well done to Whitburn

Nice little typo on the 4barsrest website
"Whitburn conducted by Andrew Duncan does the tremble at Troon with Fishburn conducted by Russell Gray close behind in second place."

I think a "well done" to all the bands who enetered, and put the effort(and strain on secretaries!) to get their bands together so ealry in the season and so soon after the holiday season.
Congratulations to all band and individual winners, makes contest days worthwhile when efforts are recognised.

Well we didn't quite manage the result we were looking for but we had a fantastic day nonetheless. Congratulations to the boys and girls at Dunaskin on their 1st section victory and for taking a Championship scalp along the way Diane, your burgers hit the spot along with a wee drink or three after we came off stage. To Sandy and the rest of the Dalmellington crew: another brilliant day's contesting; thanks for all you efforts on the organisation front. Congratulations to Whitburn on completing the treble. And I hope that Scott, Richard, Graham, Robert and the others made it home eventually from the Bon Accord where we bumped into them later To Willie, Kat, Dot, Kenny, Jamie and the rest of Campbeltown Band: thanks for completing the day with a lift to Glasgow and some much appreciated accommodation plus a great night out ;D Looking forward to next year already...

I was always under the impression that Johnstone were like Wingates; Johnstone Temperance Band. More to the point, I didn't think a lovely young lady of your tender years indulged in the amber nectar. Dafydd ap Iago An admirer from afar

Really enjoyed my day on saturday! Was long but worth it in the end! Band played really well so we were all chuffed especially with the way our performance was recieved by the audience (the hall was packed from what i remember ) and Mr Broadbent who was very complimentary in his remarks! Also big well done to Chris and Richard both played out there skins especially dickie who was awsome again and of course the basses! Well done to the other prize winners especially Coalburn and Shotts and to Dalmellington for organising an ace day!! Much beer and banter was also enjoyed afterwards at the frasers flat and at the Bon-Accord!
